PEDIATRIC THERAPY

Effective Communication speech-language pathologists (SLPs) assess, diagnose and treat a variety of communication disorders related to speech, language, cognitive communications, voice, swallowing and fluency.  Our therapy shapes and strengthens a child's ability to communicate by improving expressive and receptive language and social pragmatic skills.

Steps to Start with Effective Communication

 

We are excited to get your child started with us at Effective Communication! Here's what to expect.

If you are concerned about your child's speech and language development, give us a call at 866-849-4608. We will answer your general questions and, if needed, we will schedule a comprehensive evaluation for your child.​

  • COME IN FOR AN EVALUATION

Most often, an evaluation conducted by an Effective Communication SLP is required before beginning therapy. This allows us to develop therapy goals based on first-hand knowledge of your child. The SLP will review your child's background with you, and then conduct the one-on-one evaluation with your child.  You are welcome to stay in the room and watch the magic.

  • SCHEDULE THERAPY

Once the evaluation is​ complete, the SLP will go over her findings with you.  If therapy is recommended, she will present scheduling options that work for your family. She will follow-up with a written report either sent to your home address or given to you at the first therapy session.
